Common questions

How do I connect Apple Health?

Go to Settings → Data Sources → Apple Health in Proto, then grant permissions in the iOS Health app when prompted. Proto only reads the categories you approve.

How do I connect WHOOP?

Go to Settings → Data Sources → WHOOP and complete the OAuth flow. The connection is read-only. Proto never writes data back to WHOOP.

How do I connect Function Health?

Go to Settings → Data Sources → Function Health and complete the OAuth flow. This connection is read-only and pulls your biomarker panel results only.

How do I connect MyChart?

Go to Settings → Data Sources → MyChart. Proto connects through SMART on FHIR as a patient-facing app. The connection is read-only, does not request offline_access, and requires you to re-authenticate each session.

How do I disconnect a data source?

Go to Settings → Data Sources, tap the source, and select Disconnect. You can also revoke access directly at the provider: for WHOOP, inside WHOOP's own settings; for MyChart, inside MyChart under Manage My Account → Apps and Devices.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All local data is purged immediately, all OAuth tokens are revoked, and server-side records are removed within 30 days.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Server-side records are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM at the application layer before they reach the database, with the master key held in a Cloudflare Worker secret. Everything in transit uses TLS 1.3.

Does Proto share my data with third-party AI services?

No. All AI inference runs on first-party Cloudflare Workers AI. No user data goes to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any external LLM provider.

What if I have a medical concern about my biomarkers?

Proto is not a medical device. Contact your physician. Proto does not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care.

How do I report a bug?

Email ryan@globalproto.com with your device model, iOS version, and steps to reproduce. Screenshots welcome.
